Glenn Beck interviews Ron Paul
When I posted a video of Glenn Beck a few days ago, I was asked why I would even pay any attention to that nutcase (I'm paraphrasing). To tell the truth, I didn't even know who he was, because I don't watch network TV news channels. At all. If I happen to walk by when the "news" is on, everything I hear sounds like it's carefully constructed to the best advantage for Hillary, Obama, Hillary, McCain, or Hillary. Not surprising, since it is intended for consumption by people who spend most of the hours they are not working for somebody else, sitting in front of the TV.
So I decided to make the effort to watch this Glenn Beck character. I actually sat in front of the TV last night, long enough to see his show. Of course, I didn't agree with everything he had to say, but I like the fact that he was willing to ask some questions the popularity contest winners aren't asking. I like the fact that he doesn't sound like he is reading a script handed down by the Ministry of Truth.
So today when I found this video of Glenn interviewing Dr. Paul, I decided it was my duty to share it.

My problem with Beck isn't his sanity -- I don't think he's a nutjob, I think he's lazy, just like all the other talking heads. He says what a lot of his viewers want to hear without bothering to fact check as often as he should.
I share your frustration with the MSM -- the so-called presidential debates for both parties leading up to the primaries were ludicrous. They annointed a couple of candidates as the pre-ordained winners and then cut everyone else out. On those rare occasions when someone actually did get a chance to say what Americans outside corporate offices are thinking, e.g., the war in Iraq is a disaster, the moderator would do his best to trivialize it.
I wonder what the results would be if "None of the Above" was a choice on the November ballot?
I dunno; it would be interesting but I'm just disillusioned enough to think there would be no change in the outcome.
I once read a quote to the effect that a society always has the government it deserves. That is a depressing thought.
