More fair and balanced reporting

"HARRISBURG, Pa. - Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton are gingerly threading their way between two of the most politically charged numbers in Pennsylvania: the state's almost 1 million licensed hunters and Philadelphia's nearly one-a-day rate of gun murders."

Oh? And just what, exactly, do regular folks who own guns have to do with murderers? And while we're on the subject, what is a "gun murder"? Guns can't be murdered, because they are neither alive, nor human. Oh, you mean murders where the murderer used a gun. I know, I know; those who use knives, baseball bats etc. are so much kinder and gentler than those who used a gun.
Like a local case here, where a young lady was dragged to death behind a car. I'll bet she's glad her killer didn't use a gun. No, actually, I guarantee she wished that SHE had a gun.

"One of the strongest opponents of gun control, the National Rifle Association, has 250,000 members in Pennsylvania, more than in any other state."

Since when are the NRA one of the strongest opponents of gun control? They've been waffling and compromising our rights away for decades. HERE are some strong opponents of gun control:

Gun Owners of America

Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership

"This month the Pennsylvania House soundly defeated a bill to require handgun owners to report the theft or loss of their guns to police."

Oh, that's some of that "common sense gun legislation" we keep getting more and more of. What it REALLY is, is back-door gun registration.

"Obama assures people he has "no intention of taking away folks' guns," but believes in background checks for prospective gun buyers."

Oh, OK. He says he believes in background checks for prospective gun buyers. That tells me that he either has not a clue what he is talking about (unlikely), or is already weaving some wool suitable for pulling over folks' eyes. Why do I say that?
Ever heard of NICS? We already HAVE "background checks for prospective gun buyers". That is federal, and is administered by the FBI. You can't get any more "background check" than that. But Obama is a politician; he wouldn't bring it up if he didn't have something further in mind. So the question is, what is he REALLY talking about? It's frightening to even speculate.

"In the City of Brotherly Love, police say 343 people were killed by guns in 2006, and 330 more in 2007. The pace is slower so far this year, but five fatal shootings over the weekend pushed the total gunshot deaths to 63."

See, this is the kind of brainwashing crap that causes me to discount most of what the mainstream media says. Nobody has ever been killed by a gun. It is a tool; it is incapable of action on its own. Yet this is the way it is ALWAYS worded in the national media; and they know what they are doing, too. You never hear of anyone being killed BY a baseball bat, or a Toyota Prius. Nope, you only hear of people being killed BY guns and SUVs.

BTW, let me add that I don't think McCain is any better. For more info on just what kind of snake in the grass he is, follow the GOA link above and read what they have to say about him.
